What Staff are Saying:
“Never have I thought I would get the opportunity to be someone making an impact on kids childhood, making memories to last a lifetime. I will not take for granted the past few months this summer and camp had on my life. After accepting the job I thought to myself ‘you’re crazy being with kids all day everyday ALL summer is insane.’ Being a camp counselor was not something I thought I would be doing ever; willingly giving up sleep, personal space and alone time, no thanks. Boy would those thoughts change by the end of week one, I never wanted the fun to stop. And the only reason I was okay with time passing was because the lake was warming up. I was having the MOST fun playing games and messing around, essentially getting to be a kid again. Camp became a second home. The place my heart was and where I wanted to be all the time. During the summer the Lord answered prayers the entire time, whether it was giving me the words to say in difficult conversations or keeping the storms away, he was in every detail providing for all our needs. I could spend hours talking about the memories camp had to offer; between the long laughs, intense games of gaga ball, good conversations and great times had. I would still not be able to find the right words to explain the part of my heart that camp will hold. All of a sudden I didn’t mind the lack of sleep or clingy campers, and my camp friends are way more than I could have imagined. When I didn’t want the summer to end I knew I had spent it in the right place. Stepping outside my comfort zone and jumping when God called me too, will have me thanking him for the rest of my days. Life truly is better at the lake. ”
